The Groveland Police Department is collecting new, unwrapped toys for local children this holiday season. It lists 13 drop-off locations, and three of them are in Clermont. Families who need help can apply now, and toys go out Saturday, Dec. 19.
The details are on the department’s Holiday Toy Drive 2026 page on the city of Groveland’s website. Groveland is about eight miles west of Clermont on State Road 50.

How families apply
Families who want toys are asked to fill out the Holiday Toy Drive application on the city’s website. The department says applications are open. Its page does not say who qualifies, how many children can be helped or when applications close.
Toys will be handed out from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Public Safety Complex, 6825 State Road 50 in Groveland. Questions go to the Police Department at 352-429-4166.
Elf Festival and Christmas tree auction Dec. 4
The department is also holding its annual Elf Festival and Christmas Tree Auction from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at the Public Safety Complex. The department’s page lists:
- free games and prizes for children
- an auction of artificial Christmas trees decorated by local businesses
- vendors, holiday activities and photo spots
Proceeds go to Groveland Police Charities, the page said. The department is still looking for businesses and groups to donate and decorate a tree, and vendors are asked to bring a gift for the children who attend. Sgt. Landis Delp is organizing both; tree sponsors can reach him at landis.delp@groveland-fl.gov or 352-557-1218. Buyers have to take their trees home themselves.
