Lake County Schools’ spring break is Monday, March 22, through Friday, March 26, 2027, the week before Easter Sunday, March 28. Private schools set their own dates. Spring break is not a city holiday, so City Hall and city services run as usual that week.

Camps

The City of Clermont had not posted spring break camps for 2027 when we checked. Its recreation calendar and registration is where city programs open, and the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center office answers questions at 352-708-5992. We will add camps here, with registration links, as they are posted. Summer camps are on summer in Clermont.

Things to do

Pups in the Park, Sat. March 13, 9 a.m. The city’s free dog festival at Lake Hiawatha Preserve, 450 12th St., comes nine days before the break. In 2026 it had a dog lure course, a costume contest and “Puppuccino with a Cop.”

Pick strawberries. Southern Hill Farms, 16651 Schofield Road in south Clermont, opens for u-pick in its winter and spring seasons. There is no admission fee; you pay for what you pick. Pets are not allowed, the farm is cashless, and it asks visitors to check its website the day they go, because picking depends on weather and the crop. In March 2025 the farm ran Spring Break U-Pick with Kid Zone days; its 2027 calendar is not out yet.

The splash pad. Champions Splash Park at Waterfront Park is free, with a 74-person limit. Hours vary by season and weather, and groups of 15 or more children must book a rental. Call 352-708-5953.

The library. Cooper Memorial Library, 2525 Oakley Seaver Drive on the Lake-Sumter State College South Lake campus, is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Its events calendar lists story times and kids programs. Phone: 352-536-2275.

The lakefront. Waterfront Park, the Clermont/Minneola Trail and Victory Pointe line the south shore of Lake Minneola. The paved trail is open to walkers, runners, cyclists and skaters, the city says. See walking and biking trails.

The Historic Village. The Clermont Historic Village at West Avenue and Osceola Street opens 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with no charge.

Lake Louisa State Park. The state park south of Clermont is run by Florida State Parks; check its page for fees and hours.

Last year

In 2026 the city held The Great Clermont Campout at Waterfront Park from noon Saturday, Feb. 28, to 11 a.m. Sunday, March 1, with paddleboarding, rock-wall climbing, games and a movie on the big screen, according to its event listing. A 2027 date had not been posted.
